Experimental Papermaking

Recently I have decided to try my hand at making paper. I had a bunch of junk mail piling up and thought it would be interesting to make it into something new. I'm excited to see how this turns out over time. I think that by periodically soaking and blending together the junk mail it will serve as a way of averaging everything together and creating a sort of color index of whatever I happen to receive.

Things are getting off to a messy start. The paper is currently suspended over my bathtub, in its second day of drying. As you can see in the photo it is pretty gray (mainly due to my Oregon voter's information booklet).

Mapping in Progress

Mapping: A New Direction

Since my show I have been busy working, traveling, and, once again, going back to school. Luckily that has afforded me some time to devote to a new project centering around the idea of mapping. Here are images of my written proposal.
